Bridges
are an amazing creation. Since the creation
of man, we’ve been building bridges to get
us from one side to another. From simple
rope bridges to the engineering feats like
the Golden Gate Bridge, these structures
help us move from one place to another.
In a similar manner, we use less obvious
bridges in life, we call them transitions.
Let me explain:
You
go to work one day and you are called into
the boss’s office. They inform you that
due to the economy and slow sales that your
job has been eliminated. You have just entered
a transition season. Transitions may be
tough-the death of a loved one, the loss
of a job, an accident or other trauma or
maybe a divorce. Transitions may be good-a
promotion, the birth of a child, getting
married, moving to a new city to accept
your dream job. No matter the cause, we
go through times and seasons of transition-moving
from one stage, state or position to another.
How do you deal with change? How can you
move through a transition season smoothly
and land on the other side unharmed and
on track to continue your journey? Are there
principles of transitions that will help
you deal with change?
